source

Monday, August 12: 8-Minute Arms, 45 minute elliptical
Tuesday, August 13: 4 mile run
Wednesday, August 14: Rest Day
Thursday, August 15: 45 minute elliptical
Friday, August 16: 55 minute ellipticalSaturday, August 17: 5K Race and 1 mile walk
Sunday, August 18: 6 mile walk

TWO runs! Can you believe it?!?!? Tueday and Saturday. Sure, they were both short ones, but I think that's all I'm gonna get from the running Gods from here on out in this pregnancy, and I'm 100% ok with that. I'm just grateful to be able to workout at ALL 22ish weeks along and will take every day as it comes and continue to be grateful for what I can do and not bitch about what I can't.

Baby T: Week 20 & 21

20 weeks

Size of Baby: Week 20 the bean grew to the size of a banana. That is just freaking mind boggling. I swear, the lil' thing must have also had a growth spurt the past few weeks because I have been STARVING all the time.

21.5 weeks. This is actually in the maternity pants... I didn't end up wearing them that day, but they do make the bump look extra cute! ;

Milestone/Anything Exciting:  We found out the gender!! Baby T is a girl!!! We also got her crib and a few outfits (Goodwill's 1/2 off sale! I got 10 outfits, 4 hats, and 3 books for $11!!). SO fun to be able to start picturing HER and her room and all things baby related. Love.
On left: An outfit the Hubs and I bought. It's a little mouse!! On right: An adorable little oneside that my sister got me... it's a lady bug!! SO cute!!

Symptoms: My face looks like a peperoni pizza. I'm talking hard core breakouts. Gross. My lips have been chapped like WOAH lately too. I've never had chapped lips before, so it's definitely weird and a pain in the booty. But, that's about it! No complaints. I'm feeling great!

Weight Gain:  At the doctor's office at our 20 week appointment, I was officially up 5ish pounds. I'd say by now, I'm up 6ish.

Workouts: I ran! OK, ok-- not far and not fast, but still! Running is making a SLIGHT reapperance. The elliptical and walking have still been my favorite the biggest means of getting a workout in. I wish I was running more, but it is what it is. I'm just glad I'm still getting workouts in, however they happen.

Food Aversions:  Nothing specific.

Food Cravings:  Give me a ginormous bowl of pasta (any kind, really) and I'm a happy, happy girl.

Movement: Yes! I felt her for the first "official" time right around 20 weeks... though I think looking back I felt her a little before then, but just wasn't SURE so I didn't call it movement. But, now-- there's NO denying it. Girl moves A LOT. The Hubs even got to feel one of her crazy kicks once. It's pretty much the most amazing feeling in the world.

Milestone: I could have parked in the expecting spot!!
Yes, I do count this as a milestone, even though I didn't park there. I'm weird. We know this.

Other than that (and ya know, the whole feeling her kick for the first time and finding out gender!!) I'm still not in maternity clothes. I did wear maternity pants one day to work and the maternity jeans that evening. Dude- they just feel weird. They're constantly falling down. I feel like a 16 year old boy with sagging pants! So, I'm back to normal pants for now, while they fit. For the record, my pre-pregnant pants were (clearly) WAAAAAY too big before getting pregnant, so, yes, I am aware that this isn't normal. No, I am not not gaining enough weight. I'm perfectly healthy. Promise. The regular pants are starting to feel tight (well, at least I actually have to button/unbutton them when taking them on/off now), so something tells me I'll be in 100% maternity wear for everything sooner than later.

Waiting For...: Putting the crib together and getting started on baby girls room. We aren't doing a fancy nursery, as we're renting and won't be in our current place for that long, but we are making it her room. We got her crib (a generous gift from the in-laws... thank you!!), mattress, and bedding. I recently picked up a few other things, too. I'm eager to get it all together and see what it looks like (nesting, anyone?), but I know it's still early so I'm trying to hold off a bit so I have something to do through the pregnancy and not just sit and wait the last few weeks going bat-shit crazy. Shhh... don't tell me I'll go bat-shit crazy either way. Let me live in denial. :)

I got to run!

Wait for it....

Wait for it....

So, yesterday I RAN.

I know.

I'll give you a second to get over the shock and pick your chin off the ground.

Ok, hopefully you've recovered and your heart rate is back to normal.

Yes-- I ran! Successfully overall. I mean-- I actually RAN, so any way you spin it, I'd say that's successful.

I had a dentist appointment at 3pm yesterday, so I left work early to head to that. Turns out, during pregnancy your body chemistry can get all jacked up (shocker!), especially in your teeth (who knew?!?) so my doctor suggested an early 2nd trimester teeth cleaning. Luckily-- all at the dentist was good news (which like NEVER happens). No cavities and everything looks great! 40 minutes later and I was on my way.

I got home at 4pm and immediately knew what I wanted to do with my suddenly free hour. I mean... with weather like this, what else could I want to do??

Seriously-- is it October or August?!?!? Mother Nature, you're on crack and I like it!

10 minutes later I was laced up and Sadie and I were out the door! RUNNING. Out the door RUNNING. Woah. I was a little surprised my feet remembered how to move, it's been so long (ok, 1.5 weeks but who's counting?!?). Luckily, they did remember. However, that's NOT to say it was easy.

I mean-- WOAH.

That run was rough. Rough and slow. My breath was labored MUCH more than usual. My feet felt like they had weights tied to them. But, it didn't matter. The sun was shining. There was an amazing breeze. And, I was RUNNING. Best news maybe of all? NO knee paid! ZERO. WAHOOOOO!!!! I got to RUN. GOT to. Not HAD to. I was lucky enough that I GOT to run.

There's the belly! To help the belly be more comfortable when running I wear a "belly band"... I'll do a post soon on running/exercising when preggo and explain why/what then!  :)

Ok, ok-- yes, I walked. A lot (for me). But- to be honest, most of those runs was because SADIE seemed like she forgot how to run... well, either that or she was in a sniffy mc-snifferson mood and wanted to stop to sniff around every tree/bush/person/light post/object/single piece of grass we passed. But, it was good for me. It MADE me slow down and cut myself some slack.

4 miles later, we were back home.

Best running partner ever... even if she does make me stop to pick up her poop. :)

What was my pace? How long did it take me? Excellent questions. Answer: I have no idea. Yep, I ran naked.

No Garmin. No iPhone tracking thing. No nothing. I know a 4-mile route from my house by memory, so I know distance but I honestly have no idea how long it took me.

And, to be honest-- I don't really give a shit. Me. And, I'm 100% honest. Like, I really, really, really did not (and still do not) care.

I was/am kinda shocked how little (or, really how not at all) I care. I was happy to be running. Simple as that. I think not wearing the watch a watch REALLY helped. And, I think I just kinda know I'm lucky enough to be able to still be running at 22+ weeks pregnant. I can't be stupid and worry about pace or distance or anything other than making sure I feel OK while running.

I think my running fast days are over... at least til post-baby, that is. I think my running non-stop, without breaks days are over... again, at least til post-baby. I think my worry about pace and distance and all those things I used to obsess over are over.

And, I kinda love it.

Baby T: Gender Reveal

Did I make you wait long enough?? Though I'm sure no one else was NEARLY as excited as we were to find out. The Hubs said it was like Christmas... he didn't really get too excited before, but that morning he started getting REALLY excited. Seeing his face as we were looking at the ultrasound is a look I'll never forget.

Anyway-- baby T is 100% healthy! All genetic screenings, measurements, etc. all came out 100% clear and "normal". Best news we could have EVER gotten right there. The doctor said the baby passed it's first exam with flying colors!

Baby T is measuring RIGHT on track for due date and is a whopping 13 ounces (at 20 weeks, most babies are about 10 ounce, so kid's ahead of it's class there).

I'm up 4 pounds officially-- which TECHNICALLY is 1 pound under where I should be, but the doc was 100% not worried (in fact, she didn't even mention it). Plus, it could have simply been due to the timing of the appointment (this one was at 11:30am-- pre lunch-- and all others have been late afternoon-- aka: post lunch). I'm not worried... thought it didn't stop me from picking up some candy on the way back to the office to help make up that pound. ;)

Ok, ok... enough waiting... ready for the big ... here goes....

Btw, try to find a "It's a Girl!" image on Google and have it not be pink. I dare you. This is legit the only one I can find... which I actually kinda love, so I'm cool with it.

So, there you go! Poor Hubs is gonna be out numbered 3 to 1 in our household.... must be his lot in life to be surrounded by beautiful women (name that movie-- go!).

I've been grinning ear to ear since finding out! Can't wait to meet my beautiful baby girl! :)

This week has been a little slow. Work's been busy, which limits the mid-day workouts. My last day at my old gym is 8/6, so I really, really gotta start getting in the routine of going to the gym AFTER work on the days I can't get there in the middle of the day. Unfortunately, we have plans after work pretty much every day this week so the routine definitely won't start this week. Oh well! Next week it is!

Baby T: Boy or Girl??

The Hubs and I have our BIG doctor's appointment TODAY (!!!!!!!) and we'll FINALLY (hopefully!!) get to find out if we're having a baby girl or baby boy!!

Now, if you know me at all you know it was NEVER even a question of if we'd find out the gender of our baby. Come on now. I can't NOT find out. No way. Out of the question.

Now, if you REALLY know me, you know I couldn't even wait til that appointment to find out. So, like any normal, rational preggo, I googled it and took a bunch of random "gender prediction" tests. Let's see what they think I'm having....

Parents Magazine Quiz:

The Fortune Baby Quiz:

The Just Mommies Quiz:
Really, Just Mommies?!?!? A whopping 50% chance of predicting I have a boy. I mean... duh.

So, apparently all the quizes say we're having a boy! The Hubs thinks we're having a girl. I have NO idea and no inkling either way. With all that... I suppose all that's left to say is we'll see what's what later today!

Sorry, but you will all have to wait a couple days for me to spill the beans here. Be patient-- we gotta tell family first! :)
