Obsessed and Over

No time for a true 15 Thing Friday. Sorry, friends... I'm sure you're just completely relieved distraught about it. Work is crazy busy right now.

Instead, let's play obsessed and over...

I'm Obsessed with: Racing! I'm doing my FIRST EVER 10K tomorrow (Woah! How have I never run an official 10K before?) and, even better, I'm running it with my father-in-law. Beyond excited!

I'm Over: The Weather. BOOOOOO snow!!! I'm SOOOOO ready for the Spring.

Obsessed: Fro yo. The Hubs had the "Name of the Day" at our favorite local fro yo place, so we got his free so of COURSE we HAD to go. Duh.

Over: Ok, so this is kinda weather related again, but I totally didn't anticipate the snow and wore the WRONG shoes. My feet were FREEZING and wet all day. Boooooo.

Obsessed: I got a free Starbucks drink coupon (thanks, N!!!!) in the mail, so I treated myself to an iced carmel latte thing. Delicious!

Over: I finished Dawson's Creek last night! While I still LOVE me some DC, I'm pretty excited I finished the series and can now move onto another show... any suggestions??

Obsessed: This quote. Boom.

Over: Harvard winning. Totally screwed my bracket.

Obsessed: With the weekend. A 10K, plans to hang w/ the in laws, a quiet night in with the Hubs, a movie with a friend... great things. Bring on 5pm!

TOO COLD! So, I had to get creative!

OK, OK-- I admit it. The sucktastic weather has effected my workouts. Who wants to go for a run outside when the weather looks like this:

I mean... do you see the "feels like"??? -12. NOT HAPPENING. So, my workouts have had to adjust because a long run in that is just NOT HAPPENING when I'm not even training for anything. Simple as that.

So, I'm adjusting. Today, that means a random rest day. Ideal? No, but it is what it is. Yesterday I had the day off (yay!) so I hit the gym for a 9am Signature Strength class. Saturday and Sunday were gym days, too. Sunday I did 7 miles on the treadmill and 30 EASY minutes on the elliptical. Saturdays are normally my long run days and I didn't want to give up that extra long sweat session just because mother natures being a B. So, I got creative.

Creative and maybe a little insane?

I got to the gym around 8:45am for a 9am Unleashed class, but decided I didn't want to waste 15 minutes so I got a quick 1.5 miles in. Unleashed KILLED me... just thinking about it makes me shiver. Box jumps, pulls ups (assisted), push ups, more burpees than I can count, jumping jacks, kettle ball swings, clean presses, and more, more, more. I was SPENT, so I walked out as they were cooling down with every intention of going home. Buuut, then I walked by the treadmill and it called to me. I have no idea why. I'm insane. So, I did 4.5 miles on that. And, by then I was in full-blown sweat-addict mode so I stayed for a 60 minute power yoga class (still hate yoga, btw) and then 2 more miles. Insane? Yes. AMAZING? Absolutely.
See that pic of me next to the treadmill times? Yeaaaah-- that's how I felt by the end of my THREE HOUR workout. SPENT. DONE. DEAD. So, I showered at the gym and booked it home with every intention of plopping on the couch and not moving.

Well, then I got home and the Hubs had an hour left of some crazy long BORING movie he started while I was gone (just how long? He STARTED the movie 5 minutes after I left. It was a FOUR + hour movie. Whhhhhy???? Clearly we have different movie tastes.). I mean-- what choice did I have? Sit and watch him watch a movie? No thanks. So, the Sadster and I took a walk.
It was windy and cold, but actually not too bad. Nice enough that I totally could have and should have gone for a long run, but whatever. I got a killer workout in and it was a nice change of pace.

So, I ended the day with:
50 minute Unleashed Class
60 minute Power Yoga Class
2 mile walk
8 miles on TM

In ONE DAY. Again, crazy? Yup. I CLEARLY don't do this often, but I had a free morning and felt in the zone so I went with it.

And, when I was done-- I sat my ass on the couch ALL DAY watching One Tree Hill (still obsessed, though this newest season w/o Luke or Peyton is LAME. But, I can't stop. It's a problem, I know.), except when I napped while the Hubs watched the Purdue basketball game (side note: they won! yay!). I haven't NAPPED in forever. I was seriously SO tired. WAY more tired than after a typical long run. I even had the Hubs bring me home fro yo when he had to run to the office that night. Laziness at it's finest. Hey... it's all about balance, remember?

WIAW - New Year's Edition!

Yeah, Yeah-- I know. I've been totally MIA lately. SORRY!! Don't worry-- I'm back! Without further ado, let's just hop back into the swing of things with a WIAW. Below are all my eats from yesterday (Tuesday, 1/1). I had the day off and did a long run (11 miles) and took the dog for a 2 mile walk to make it 13 miles for a great first day of 2013!

Breakfast: 10:30am
I didn't eat anything before my run because... well, because I'm dumb, I guess. I just wasn't thinking. I also didn't bring anything with me on my run. DUMB Meagan. Anyway-- Sadie was CLEARLY ready for a walk (that's her!! Notice she's sitting RIGHT by the door, just waiting!) so I grabbed this and went right back out the door. Not an ideal breakfast, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Lunch: 1pm (Note: old, recycled pic but same exact food)
The Hubs and I went to Hot Box Pizza 2 days before so it was left overs for lunch. BBQ chicken pizza. SO, SO, SOOOO good!!!

Random Snack Throughout Day:
Love this stuff. Snacked on and off all day.

Dinner: 6pm
We roasted a spaghetti squash and topped it with jarred marinara, TJ's roasted garlic chicken sausage, and roasted yellow/orange peppers and onions. YUUUUM! And soooooo good for you!

Dessert: 7:45pm
The in-laws got us 2 gift cards for our favorite fro yo place, so you KNOW we had to end of winter holiday with some of it! I swear, there is actually fro yo under that mound of candy. Swear.

Tuesday, Tuesday, Tuesday

Tuesday, Tuesday, Tuesday!

Hey-- at least it's not Monday.

But, before we talk about Tuesday, let's talk about Monday.

I'm trying SO HARD to get up in the morning and hit the gym at my not-so-usual-anymore 5:30am group classes. It's just SOOOO hard sometimes. Monday was one of those times. I didn't sleep great and when I found myself up at 4am, I knew 5am wasn't gonna happen so I reset the alarm for 6:30 and tried to get a bit more shut eye. Stupid. I never really got back to bed so I should've just gotten up and went to the gym at 5am. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Oh well.

After a busy day at work I decided to hit the gym for a 5:45pm Unleashed class. What is Unleashed again?

Basically, it's similar to an Insanity type workout. Insanity (and Unleashed) = insane. Just for the record.

Anyway, the class didn't start til 5:45pm, so I had a little time to kill. Enter, treadmill.

Yes, I was rockin' compression sleeves.

I was a little nervous to even attempt to run, since I ran long Saturday and then got 6+ in again on Sunday. So, I set it for just over a 10:00 pace and hopped on. I was pleasantly surprised to feel great! I felt like I was going SO SLOW, but kept the pace steady and just called it a warm-up before the class started. I got 1.5 miles in in just under 15 minutes. Slow, but felt great! It's crazy how sometimes that pace can feel like I'm CRAWLING and like I could carry on a full conversation with no problems and sometimes that pace feels like death. Oh, running. That's why I love/hate you.

Me post run, but pre-Unleashed.

5:45pm rolled around and it was time to head to the gym for Unleashed.

I always know this class is rough, but I kinda forget just how rough til I walk in and see all the stations and then it all comes flooding back. Burpees, squats, lungs... yeaaaah. Intense.

Just how intense? Well, below was the WARM UP.
100 jumping jacks, 50 alternating lunges, then ran 2 laps SPRINTED around the gym.
100 jacks, 40 alt. lunges, 2 laps.
100 jacks, 30 alt. lunges, 2 laps.
100 jacks, 20 alt. lunges, 2 laps.
100 jacks, 10 alt. lunges, 2 laps.

Not a math major? That ended up being:
   - 500 jumping jacks
   - 150 alternating lunges
   - 10 laps sprinted around gym

As a warm up.

I was chatting with the Hubs after and we both agreed-- that should be called part one of the workout rather than the warm up. For real.

Back to the class... after completing the "warm up" (aka: part 1 of the workout), we got to the actual workout.
All stations done for 2 minutes. Complete first part, then second, then repeat until timer goes.
Station 1: 10x Wall Balls, 10x Tap Jump with Ball  (Note: I used 25 lb ball)
50 JUMPING JACKS
*1 minute break*
Station 2: 20x KB Swings, 5x Burpees (Note: I used 20 lb kball)
15 BURPEES
*1 minute break*
Station 3: 10x Clean & Press, 15x Deadlift (Note: Not sure what weight the bar was I used... I think 20.)
100 MOUNTAIN CLIMBERS
*1 minute break*
Station 4: 10x Knee Ins, 10x Push Up (Note: Completed on medicine ball, which made it so it was basically like a 2 min. plank too. UGH!)
50 JUMPING JACKS
Station 5: 2x Carpet Pushes across gym, 20x Jump Squat
15 BURPEES
Station 6: 10x bicep curl (I used 10 pound weights), 20x push ups (with help of risers)
40 PUSH UPS

The warm up and that workout too about 43 minutes. I peaced out after that. The class actually kept going with a few on-the-fly exercises to make it a full 50-minute class (+ 10 more minutes of cool down/stretching), but I just was POOPED. Plus, I knew I was going to Signature Strength this morning and didn't want to completely slaughter my muscles before then. I was dripping in sweat though! 43 intense minutes! LOVED it.

Since I left about 15 minute early, I got home right around 7pm. The Hubs was just finishing up his dinner and some paperwork around the house (paying bills! Thanks, hubs!). I reminded him that he had the name of the day! You know what that meant...

Our favorite fro yo place gives a free cup of fro yo to you if you have their name of the day. So, we headed straight to fro yo right after I got home. DELICIOUS!

If you notice, I said we went RIGHT after I got home. As in, no dinner between then. WHOOPS. I ended up having some air popped popcorn post fro yo while icing my knee and then a handful of almonds and chocolate chips. Dinner of champions? My tummy was not too happy with that decision and was in full on-revolt mode by bedtime. Whoops. Next time, I promise to give you food with actual substance ok, tummy? Good.

That brings us to today! TUESDAY, TUESDAY, TUESDAY!!! Hey, it's ONE day closer to Friday!!!

I started the day of at the gym with a 60-minute Signature Strength class that KILLED my arms and abs! Wowza.

Post class I decided to try the TM again, since yesterday it went well and since the strength class didn't have TOO much legs (though I'm sure I'll still be crazy sore tomorrow). I did 2 miles in 18:04. I went back and forth for the first mile for 20 seconds at 9:30 and 40 seconds at 8:42. Then, for the last 1/2 mile I started at 8:30 pace and increased it ever :30 seconds. Ended up being an average of a 9:02/pace. I'll take it!

Kinda random end of post story: The Hubs texts me every morning to say good morning (vomit, I know) and to see how the gym went. Today I replied that it went good and that I did signature strength and then 2 miles in 18:04. Below is his reply.

He's so goofy... but, I love him. :)

WIAW - 11/28/2012

Peas and Crayons

That's right!!!! Time for yet another exciting round of WIAW, courtesy of our host... So, without further ado, let's get to it and check out my Tuesday eats.

Breakfast:

Pineapple Greek yogurt is AMAZING. I really, really didn't think I'd like it and only got it the first time because it was the only flavor on sale (weird, right??), but OMG. I love it. Beyond love. Fully addicted. Add a few handfuls of Special K (as seen above) and it's a killer breakfast. So tasty! (Note: Also had a HUGE mug of unpictured coffee.)

Lunch:
Nothing exciting here. Turkey sandwich on low-fat wheat bun with spicy brown mustard (my favorite!!), carrots, apple, and a handful of sour cream and onion Pop Chips. Diet Cherry Coke on the side (still going strong on one a day... for the most part!). B-O-R-I-N-G.

Snack:
Caught. Red handed. Whatever. Candy's too good to give up. I had a snack size peanut m&m pack and have no shame!

Dinner:
Crockpot Mexican chicken. SO easy. Put 3-4 thawed, raw chicken breasts in bottom of crock pot. Add can of drained black beans and can of fire roasted tomatoes. Add 1/2 packet of taco seasoning. Add sprinkle of garlic or onion salt. Cook on low 6 hours. Shred chicken. Add back to crockpot and cook on low for 30-45 more minutes. Serve about a million different ways... I had mine on brown rice with a good squirt of Siracha on top. They Hubs had it in a tortilla as a soft taco. So, so good. Oh, and for the record-- I didn't have that diet pepsi in the picture! That's the Hubs drink. I had a flavored water. One diet soda a day-- going strong!!

Dessert:
We were gonna go for fro yo, but we're trying to limit the whole fro yo habit a bit, so we didn't go. These are a FAR CRY from fro yo, but they're still pretty good. And suprisingly big for just 110 calories.

Night Snack:
(Forgot to take a pic-- blogger fail) Big bowl of air-pop popcorn. I don't even buy the microwave bags anymore, unless it's to keep at the office. The air-popped kind is just so much better. Trust me. Buy an airpopper. It's a big, bulky appliance, but SO worth it.

______________________________________________________________

In other news, I did it! I got out yesterday during my "lunch hour" and did 6 miles!

I realize my Garmin says I only did 5.3 miles. I did 6, I promise. Stupid thing (I love you, Garmin) took .7 miles to find satelite! Crazy!! Anyway-- I did them! In about a 9:30 pace. Not bad!! The weather was perrrrrfect!

I know it seems cold.... and it is... but, it's also my FAVORITE weather to run in. I love the cold nose, long sleeve, tights needed weather. Love it.

When I got home after work I even did another 3, to make my daily total 9 miles! Not too shabby for a random Tuesday! Longest I've done mid-week since marathon training. Post-run I did Jillian's 30-Day Shred (aka: MURDER! Girl is SO HARD CORE!!). Turned into a solid workout day. LOVE that.

After my quick run and quality Jillian time, I made a quick dinner and then watched Gilmore Girls reruns before making a trek for some FRO YO!!! They have ROASTED MARSHMALLOW flavor.

How's that for self control?? I posted that on MONDAY and didn't actually get to try it til TUESDAY. I'm a beacon of self-control. Anyway-- back to the FRO YO. So, so, soooo good. Delicious. I got mine with graham cracker dust (I think it'd be better as graham cracker chunks, but it was still good) and reese's. Even the Hubs tried and loved it, though he got his with chocolate chips instead of reese's. His looked darn good too. Might have to try that next time. Would tonight be too soon?? :)

A tale of two 6 mile runs

Yesterday after work I stopped by to talk to the athletic trainer who I've been talking to and who's been helping me with my knee. I'm still going to do a full post on what exactly is going on with the knee and what I've been doing for recovery. Promise. Soon.

Anyway-- as I said yesterday, I was stopping bye to get Kinesio taped up. I emailed her during the day about her thoughts on it, planning to buy a roll online. She replied and just told me to stop by and that she'd tape me up so I could see how it felt before buying a whole roll. SCORE!

So, I went by and she taped it up. I should've taken a pic, but I'm a blogger failure so I didn't. Basically, it was a Y shape starting just below the knee as the base of the 'Y' and then having each arm-part of the Y be going up each side on my knee. It didn't really feel like anything. I couldn't tell there was tape on it, but it also didn't immediately make anything feel wonderfully different either (though the knee isn't hurting when I just walk, so it was hard to tell).

So, I got home and immediately rushed around the house like a madwoman to get changed, lace up the Mizuno's, and hit the pavement.
I got in 6 miles before calling it-- more due to the darkness than anything else. WHY does it have to get SOOOO dark so early?? Luckily, I leave SUPER close to a college campus, so I can run around there and have LOTS of lights, people walking around, campus police roaming, emergency call stations, etc. I felt 100% safe the entire time.

Anyway, we got off track-- the Kinesio tape. Back to the run and the tape. Unfortunately, I honestly didn't feel a big difference. It definitely didn't HURT, but I still had super sharp pangs of pain on the right knee throughout the run. Each burst of pain would last about 5 seconds and then fade. When there wasn't a burst, I felt NO pain. Weirdly, the last 1.5 miles I had NO bursts of pain. Weird. The first few miles, though, they were all too common and several brought me to a complete stop they hurt so badly. BOO.

Anyway, I belted out just over 6 miles at about a 9:45/mile pace. And, for the record-- I didn't stop the watch any of the times I came to a stop from the pain, nor did I stop it when I SIGNIFICANTLY slowed down the times I almost came to a stop, but kinda limped through it. I was MORE than happy with my pace knowing that and especially since it felt like I was going MUCH slower. I didn't look at my watch once the whole time and felt like I was going SO SLOW. I excepted more like 10:45 paces, so I was thrilled with the 9:45 pace, even if it wasn't that fast.

So, I don't think I'm going to buy a roll of the tape. I'll try it again (the Athletic Trainer gave me an extra strip) using a different placement for the tape to see if that changes anything. All in all though, I'd say it didn't work for me. I've heard it works for others, though. So, to me-- it's kinda like compression gear. Not a TON of research saying it really does anything... but, if it works for you-- GO FOR IT.

Anyway, post run I did manage to get some Jillian action in.
Look at me-- all doing what I said I was going to do! Miracles do happen every now and then! I did Jillian's 30-Day Shred, Level 2 with 8-pound hand weights. Let me just say, for the record, JILLIAN KICKS MY ASS. You'd think-- oh, you just ran 6 miles! A 20-minute workout video'll be a piece of cake. Yeah-- you'd be WRONG. Girl is HARD. CORE. I love it! I love that she kinda yells at you via video, but not really. I love that she gets on the girls who are in the video too. I just love Jillian. I'd volunteer to spend a month at the Biggest Loser ranch any day. Difference between me and the people who actually do get to go (besides a couple pounds)?? I think it'd be fun! Like, a lot of fun. So, Jillian-- if you ever read this and want to make a girls day, call me and invite me on over to the ranch. :)

Notice my BFF the foam roller there on the floor. Me and my blue friend have been spending TONS of quality time together the last 2 weeks. The Athletic Trainer has me on some serious foam rolling orders that I'm following to the letter. The Hubs has been jealous that I'm spending more time with my blue BFF than him. Poor guy.

Speaking of the Hubs... guess who worked late last night and when he finally did get home, came with the best surprise a girl could ask for?!?!?

FRO YO!!!! What a surprise! It was damn good, too! Now... just don't tell the Hubs I had actually gotten fro yo earlier that day at lunch with a friend.

Fro yo twice in the same day? SCORE. Thanks, Hubs!!!! :) :) :)

Today started out kinda rough. I had a really hard time sleeping last night, so I decided to skip the gym again this morning. BOO. I can't start doing this all the time. MUST. GET. UP. EARLY. AGAIN.

Anyway, luckily I did have time to get a workout in at lunch. I decided to try for a run with a goal of 4 miles.

WOOWOO! 6.25 miles FASTER than the 6 were last night! A 9:13/mile pace. With negaitve splits. Without looking at my watch. And, again-- it felt like I was going SO slow. LOVE when that happens. What do I love even better?? (Might want to sit down for this next part)

IT WAS 100% PAINFREE!!!

I have no idea how or why. But, I will TAKE it. I didn't change anything really about the run. Well, maybe that's not true... today I did wear my Brooks Ravennas and yesterday I wore my Mizuno Wave Precision 12's. Maybe that made a HUGE difference. I don't think so, because I've worn both of them in the past 2 weeks and have pain both of them... but, the Ravenna's definitely give more support than the Precisions, so it might have something to do with it. I also iced and foam rolled this morning, since we're headed out of town this weekend and I won't have time tonight. I'm thinking that might have the biggest impact. Interesting. I'll definitely remember this and if I run Sunday, I'll definitely be foam rolling and icing BEFORE and after the run and we'll see how that goes.

Anyway-- back to today's run-- I loved every second. The sun was shining. The weather was perfect. It was perfect. One of those runs that reminds me WHY I LOVE to run. Perfection. Absolute perfection.

I'm worried it might have been a fluke... I have no idea how today's run was painfree when just yesterday's wasn't. I have no idea. And, you know what-- I don't really care right now. All I know is it didn't hurt and that is wonderful! It was a glorious run. If the next run isn't painfree, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. For now, I'll GLADLY take every single painfree step I can get.

Best start to the weekend ever. Ever.

Hope your weekend starts just as great as mine did!

Weekend: A Run, Wilson Phillips, and No Power!

Why, oh why, do all weekend go by SO FAST??? Why can't the WEEKDAYS go by fast and the weekends slow down?!?!?

Another fun weekend down...

Friday night the Hubs and I went grocery shopping, had take out pizza and wine, and I watched "The Vow" while the Hubs watched the first official Purdue basketball game (they lost = grumpy Hubs for the rest of the night).

Love that movie. So cute. Oh, and that's my favorite wine. I'm so classy. Barefoot Moscato. Perfection.

Anyway... I was beyond excited to go to bed early Friday because I knew what Saturday had in store for me... a "long" RUN! I know I haven't said much about running lately, which is mainly because there hasn't been much going on so there's pretty much nothing to report. I also haven't talked about it too much because I'm still not entirely pain free and still just working with an athletic trainer to figure things out. Recovery is moving along... but, slowly. Very slowly. BUT, I have been running. YAY!

Saturday morning was 6.2 (I mean... I just had to make it a full 10K... duh.) miles. Outside. In perfect weather. Again, not pain free, but it didn't matter. I loved every second.

6.2 miles in 56:09. A 9:04 average pace! What?!?!?! I'll admit it was HARD to hold that pace... and, I even managed solid positive splits with the last mile even being sub 9:00! Who am I?!?!? I wish it had been easier, but after a solid month of almost no running, I'll take it, hands down.

Post run I went to the gym for a TOUGH 60-minute gym class called "Unleashed".

It's similar to the Insanity-type of workout. We did a TON. Just to give you an idea, the WARM UP was:
-50 K-Ball Swings (I used 15-lb)
-10 Burpees
-1 Lap Around the Gym
-40 K-Ball Swing
-10 Burpees
-1 Lap Around the Gym
-30 K-Ball Swings
-10 Burpees
-1 Lap Around the Gym
-20 K-Ball Swings
-10 Burpees
-1 Lap Around the Gym
-10 K-Ball Swings
-10 Burpees
-1 Lap Around the Gym

As a WARM UP? Woah. I was BEAT by the end of the class... but, it felt amazing. Great, great workout!

I rushed home after Unleashed and then the Hubs and I went for a quick 3-mile walk before visiting our local Humane Society! The Hubs and I have been talking about getting a dog for MONTHS, so it was great to finally go check out the shelter and see how it works and such. We definitely didn't leave with a dog (yet!), but it was great to see it and we plan to check it out again next weekend. Hopefully we'll have a dog by Christmas!

After the Humane Society, I met up with 2 girlfriends for a fun girls day! We did some outlet mall shopping. I left with 2 shirts, 1 sweater, a pair of shoes, some candles, and some perfume! Oh my!

Then, we went to dinner and a concert: WILSON PHILLIPS!

2 of my best girlfriends, a Bud Light, and some classic chick music?? Sign me up.

Actually, I only knew like 2 of the songs (of COURSE-- "Hold On For One More Day". CLASSIC.), but it was super fun-- GREAT people watching and anytime us girls get together it's bound to be a fun night.

Sunday was a lazy day... slept in, went for a 4.5 mile walk with the Hubs, went out for lunch (we had a groupon!), ran some errands (I got a new coat! Thank goodness-- there's SNOW in the forecast for today!), and then came home where the Hubs watched the Purdue basketball game (they won this one!) and I worked some blog stuff.

Right when I wrapped up blog stuff and when the bball game was almost over the Hubs and I both heard a loud POP and then-- nothing. Silence. And dark. Power outage. It was only about 3:30, so we had plenty of sunlight... but, man! Turns out there's very little to do without power. The worse part was that I was about 2-hours into a chicken dish cooking away in the slow cooker. The Hubs and I decided to park it on the couch and read. 2 hours later, the power was STILL off and it was DARK. We decided to go out to dinner, even though I had planned dinner so well! Boo! Plus, we had leftovers-- but, with no way of warming them up, out we went. AND, we rented a RedBox earlier that we planned to watch... yeah, obviously that didn't happen.

Anyway, we went to Granite City for dinner. Yum! I opted for a Italian Beef type sandwich. Good-- and HUGE! I could only finish half, so the Hubs is stoaked for leftovers.

We HOPED we'd get back to power... but, no such luck. And, by now-- it was DARK. Like, DARK dark. Yeaaaah... if I thought there was nothing to do without power earlier, there was REALLY nothing to do then. Luckily, we have lots of candles and ONE flashlight. We curled up on the couch, sharing the light from the flashlight, and ready more. I'm a little more than half way through Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.

This book is GOOD. I'm obsessed. I've never read a mystery kinda book before and I'm so into it. It's taking all of my self control not to just do a Google search and see what the ending is. ALL my self control.

We read for a few hours. The power was still out when I went to bed. AWESOME. Luckily, it clicked back on sometime around 11pm.

So, that was the weekend.

This morning I hit the gym for a 5:30am 60-Minute Spinning Class and then 2.5 SPEEDY (and still not 100% pain free) miles on the treadmill in 20:28.

I'm hoping this week goes by fast! We have super fun plans for the upcoming weekend... can't wait! Here's hoping the week FLYS by at least as fast as this past weekend did!
