Friday was a pretty low key day. I left work at noon to go to the race expo and get my race pack. Turns out "expo"is quite a liberal term for what I walked into. More like 3 booths in a tent. Whatever, it was fine. I didn't need anything anyway, so I grabbed my packet, did a little Hubs birthday shopping, and then called it a day and went back to the apartment to compress, ice, and rest a bit. Ya know... totally normal stuff.
The Hubs and I went to dinner that night (carb loading!!), did some grocery shopping and red boxed it. Great, lazy night. More on Friday on the still to come race recap. Ya, ya. I know. I'm on it.
Saturday was the half marathon. Uh huh. It's coming. Stop yelling. I started. I ran. I finished. End of story for now.
At least I got a shinny medal!
After the race we celebrated the Hubs birthday with a big family lunch and hung out with Matt's fam all day. It was a great time. We headed home where I proceeded to have baked Cheetos for dinner. Only baked Cheetos. I'm a winner.
Sunday I hit the gym for a sweaty 60 minutes on the elliptical.
Why yes, that is an edition of Runner's World that is over a year old. My gym ROCKS.
After the gym the Hubs and I had lunch and then went on a crazy long walk-- FIVE MILES. Definitely the longest walk together we've ever done. I looooove to go for walks, but the Hubs gets a bit bored, so it was nice of him to keep me company for such a long walk.
We finished our Sunday with a movie: The Five Year Engagement was showing at our local "cheap theater" so we saw it for $3. For $3 it wasn't bad.... But, I was much more impressed with the snacks we snuck in than the movie.
Mmmmm...SmartPop. So good!
I took the day off work Monday as a mental health day. Sometimes you just need a day off for no reason. I slept in, hit the gym for a spinning class, 5 miles on the treadmill and 20 minutes on the elliptical.
Then I ran some errands and did a crazy amount of laundry.
I'd love to tell you this is weeks worth of laundry for a family of 4, but it's honestly only ONE weeks worth of just me and the Hubs. 2 works outs and a work outfit a day adds up.
The rest of the day was spent curled on the couch in compression socks watching a Real Housewives of New York Marathon. Also known as the best day ever. Except there was no FroYo was involved. Other than that small hiccup (no idea how that happened!), best day ever.
No fro-yo? What?!
ReplyDeleteI have a crazy amount of laundry to do every weekend too and it is just mine- UGH.
I know!!!! I have no idea how I forgot about fro yo... but, it won't happen again! :)
